Life & Money Quotes of the Week: June 18 '23

This week I'm thinking about success for future you.

Why I Don't Like Debt

In theory I'm pretty neutral towards debt. It's not all bad, and can be totally useful. What I don't like about it, is when I'm still paying for something that I'm no longer interested in, or am less interested in then I am in using the money for other things. Debt is current you reaching into the future and trapping future you into paying for something current you wants. Current you probably doesn't like when past you did that. So be careful when you do it to future you.

Recovery Is Not Recreation

I talk more about this in my workshop at the Banff Public Library this coming Saturday June 24th. Basically though, it takes time to recover from work sometimes, and even when you're doing something you like during that time, it's not as good as if you weren't recovering. Time for recovery is something we should plan for, because it's a reality of life.

I Love This Measurement Of Success

All our goals don't need to be big and audacious. Little goals are important too. Then again, this might feel like a baby step to some, and it might actually be big and audacious to others. Either way, it's worth working towards.
